This week I make note of the gratitude I have for the goodness of God in my life. I have much to be thankful for ALL my blessings. The holidays behind us, the New Year upon as and I continue to be blessed.
A few weeks ago, on my regular temple shift a lady came in to do initiatory. Her face glowed and she smiled the whole time she was there. I had the opportunity to speak with her briefly during the ordinance. She noticed as she looked at me that my glasses were slightly crooked and made a comment. Well, it was obvious that they needed to be repaired or replaced. She mentioned that she was an optician and asked forgiveness for her comment. I took note of where she worked as she left.
After Christmas I called her office and went in to talk about what I needed to do to get the frames fixed. I knew the best option was to get a new pair. We talked for about half an hour. She was so kind and talked about her experience at the temple that day I saw her and thanked me again.
She showed me several pair of new frames and even suggested I get an exam, but I was not ready to buy new glasses just yet. She told me that my frames were the most delicate yet beautiful of all the glasses they carried. She then pulled out a (frame)pair from the drawer and said they were discontinued. She asked if I wanted her to try to send them to the lab and see if they could fix the broken temple, or right arm of my glasses. I said sure, why not? I didn't know what the charge would be, but knew the repair would be less as opposed to a new set would be much more reasonable especially after the holidays.
The glasses were sent to the lab and she said they would call me when they came in. She did call me and said when I went in that the lab told her these lenses/glasses were so scratched on the surface and should be replaced. I agreed, but again the timing was not convenient.
She handed me the glasses, and said there was no charge, and told me that they replaced the whole frames with the discontinued frames! I almost cried. I had not expected any more than just the side of the temple to replace what I had broken. Here she handed me in essence a new pair of glasses. She also said I could just buy new lenses and they would put them in the new frame she just gave me.
I felt the hand of God blessing me with a new set of frames for the lenses. I was almost speechless except for "thank you, thank you, thank you". She was an angel! You cannot tell me differently. So here I am with a new set of glasses that could have cost over $225.00. I have learned a new respect for them and handle them as if porcelain to make them last as long as I can.
I know I receive an extra measure of blessings for serving others in the house of the Lord each week. I know my family is blessed also. I consider Tracie is blessed recovering amazingly well and the healing is taking place. The rest of you are my blessings in my life too. Thank you!

Mom, You didn't tell me this story. How sweet. I am so glad you were blessed with new glasses. They looked very nice on you when I saw you. I like your picture too. I am pleased that you are seeing the fruits of your labors. I know we are all receiving blessings due to that service. Thank you.
Love you, Tracie
