The girls, Tanise, Tara, Tana, and I went to visit Tracie at St.Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City. She had surgery on Tuesday and is doing well as her recovery goes. She is very tired and getting the pain under control. The healing cannot take place with the intensity of the pain, but with the help of modern medicine, she is mending gradually as the pain is under control.
She is meeting the goals her Dr has for her and Jared is keeping a close watch on her and keeps us updated on their family blog, in case you care to follow it if you haven't already.
Visiting with her brought back my medical social work knowledge and understanding of her condition and needs. I was able to seek out her nurse and give her some requests for ice and checking on Tracie as we left. I guess, once a social worker, always a social worker. Jared is doing a great job of making sure Tracie is well taken care of too. It brings out the best in him and his great love for our Tracie.
We are seeing a miracle in action as Tracie progresses in her recovery. The surgery went well and she is in the best of care with the best Dr.(Belnap) possible for the hemagiomas she has on her liver. they appear t have been from birth. We do not know how she came to have them, but with the miracles of medicine she is doing well and a full recovery is anticipated, and assured.
For current updates on her and the whole scenario, go to their open blog at jfillerupfamily.blogspot.com. Jared is keeping us all posted as her recovery progresses. Thanks again, Jared! Good job.
The hand of God has surely graced us and blessed our Tracie to be able to have this surgery and begin her recovery. The kids are all doing great and I get to help out as well as Jared's parents, and sisters with them to take care of Drew, Adam, Madie, and Luke. Tracie is very organized and had everything in order at the house. She put in a lot of work before hand to be prepared for the days she would be down. It is a blessing to be close by and available to help anyway I can. It is a group effort and know Jared, Tracie and the kids are very appreciative of all of our support at this time. God Bless you, Tracie!
We went to eat afterward to the Paradise Bakery and Cafe. They have a great menu of soups, salads and sandwiches. It is in American Fork and not too far from Aaron & Candice's. Tanise was familiar with the menu and suggested it as a place for us to go to eat. We had a nice visit at the restaurant and the food was wonderful.
