Fruits of the Labor
You can see some of this year's raspberries next to the long fence in the background of the picture of Ron on his knees. The Swiss Chard is along the back fence from the last year's crop that produced this Spring in the other photos.
Ron has been busily planting, planting and more planting. He is planting tomatoes, and more tomatoes of many varieties; Cherry, Beef Master, Ace, Celebrity, and Oregon Spring. He's actually bought and planted over 100!
Yes, a hundred. He placed wire baskets around them and put a fibrous covering to protect it from insects. He did a study before and learned that when covering the tomato plants it prevents the curly leaves from the creepy, crawly, critters! He showed the ones that were uncovered and the ones that were covered for the season. The uncovered ones had a yield of 4 lbs of fruit compared to the 35 pounds from the covered plants. The covering doesn't shield it from the sun, but protects the leaves from infestation.

Lost Keys--Hearts of the Children
Do you ever lock your keys inside the car only to discover when you come back to get in you can't get in the car?
The other day I was at a meeting at the church and the lady parked next to me had locked her keys in it. She came to an open house to become acquainted on how to find her ancestors. I knew exactly how that felt to leave the keys in my car. I usually had Aaron come rescue me either to bring me the spare key or to get a ride home to get the extra key.
I offered to drive her home to get her daughter's set of keys, since she had no spare key with her. She lived about 15 minutes away. She was worried about having to go home and me bring her back. I assured her how that same thing had happened to me and it was okay for me to pay back to someone else to help out like someone did for me.
We talked along the way and she was pleased to be able to find some information about her grandmother. It was a good missionary activity and she seemed interested in her ancestors to find them.
