I went with Aaron and the kids to see the museum today between conference sessions. Parker liked the hands on inventions best. My camera battery was shot so I didn't get any pictures of them at the exhibit. We actually went of Friday evening just as they closed at six o'clock. They gave us a free family pass to go back today. Lucky blessing.
This is a sketch of Christ drawn by Leonardo da Vinci.
I liked this quote, in fact I bought a quote book by da Vinci himself. I will share a few here.
There is no question that Leonardo da Vinci was great artist, accomplished designer, brilliant engineer, and distinguished scientist.
But he was a profound philosopher as well. I agree that "he was the most accomplished man in the history of the western world."
"Every difficulty can be overcome by effort"
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
"Human ingenuity. . . will never devise any inventions more beautiful, nor more simple, nor more to the purpose than Nature does."
"You can have no dominion greater or less than yourself."
This is a boat da Vinci designed in the 1500s. One of many. His craftsmanship was practically irreplaceable. He appears to have been an engineer, designer, mathematician and artist.
