Today I attended a women's fair at UVU, in the McKay Events Center. It brought back memories of several activities I've attended in the past. For example, the UVSC basketball games when Tanise coach-assisted for the Women's teams, graduations, mine, Michael's, Aaron's, Nathan's, as well as some Kiersten's high school graduation.
The one memory that stands out most is the service project we did as family and extended family to help support our missionaries, Aaron and Matt. I don't know about anyone else but that activity meant a lot to me,as I am sure it did for each of our missionaries. It was about sacrifice of time and personal time to give for the good of someone else who served the Lord. I know I, myself besides we received countless blessings for the service we gave that are incalculable.
The Women's Expo was the usual, jewelry, clothes, beauty products that help women be feminine and of course the desire to spend money. But, I only spent $1.00. I found two, four oz. bottles of organic cleaner scented with essential oils orange and lavender. The same vendor gave me 1 dram samples of many, not just a few of Frankincense, peppermint, oregano, a blend for bruises (for Parkers ouchies), wintergreen (for pain), and of course my favorite vials of orange and lavender. I didn't realized how fortunate I was to get so many. My friend went later when I told her to go but she was only given two. Maybe because I bought those two spray bottles of the cleaner made the difference. I don't know. Just lucky, I guess.
Today was Candice's birthday. She had lunch with her mom and Alexa, then we went to dinner and had Chinese food. The girls loved Grandma's Egg Drop soup, they were so hungry. Our dinner came just as Aaron asked to order more soup so he canceled on it. We had more than enough with the four selections and had two full take home boxes of left overs. We had Beef & Broccoli, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Cashew Chicken and Mango Chicken with fried rice, Chinese noodles and white rice. Parker seemed to eat and enjoy his dinner. The baby slept through it all until the end of our meal. He was a jewel. He is so cute!!!
I finished out the evening and went to a Single's dance at the old Orem Cascade Second ward building. I had a good time and was able to dance a lot and had some nice conversations with some very nice gentlemen. I would probably dance more if I got involved with the dance instruction before the fourth week dances. One of the men I danced with is one of the Singles (service) representatives. He told me about the instruction class. It would be a lot easier to learn from an expert instead of trying to figure out the Line dance steps by doing on my own bumping into the dancers as they shift left to right, forward and back. I did just that last night. It would have made a funny picture had one been taken of me out there on the dance floor. It seems I have two left feet or two right feet, I don't know.
