Stripling Warriors' Mothers

Mother teaching her children--Lillie Ann Landreth McIntire with her husband, Henry and children, Lillian and Earl Henry circa 1914

An ancient of times mother and her child

This looks like 21 month old, Joel's hand. So cute and with those chubby fingers/hands.

"Yea they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them. And they rehearsed the words of their mothers, saying "We do not doubt our mothers knew." Alma 56:47-48

Many a son or daughter who is armed with the full armor of God, has/had a Stripling Warrior Mother. They go out into the world of life knowing with absolute as surety that their mother never wavered in her testimony of the living Christ.
Likely she took them in her arms from birth, sang to them songs of Jesus and wrapped them in the love of the Savior and clothed them with the truth in her example and actions. Her speech was beyond reproach, remembering who she was as a daughter of God.

She must have instilled in them to have a desire to be missionaries by the fervor in which she bore her testimony of the Book of Mormon often as she taught them the gospel in their home each week.

They knew of their mother’s faith in God and in Jesus Christ by the prayers she offered in their behalf each morning and night as they gathered for family prayer. Her faith could move mountains and always called on the power of the priesthood to bless and heal her children, she encouraged them to get father’s blessings throughout the year when a new year in school was upon them.

Her children never doubted how much the temple meant to her as she would go faithfully to bring the blessings of the temple to her ancestors and participated with her to perform the proxy baptisms for her parents, grandparents and be a part of their bonds for eternity in the temple together as a family.
The influence of mothers in the home is priceless and builds armies of Helaman and Captain Moroni’s. God bless the women of the Lord who nurture, teach and train their little ones from the cradle to adulthood. One never outgrows their need for “Mother’s love.”

Sisters, may God Bless us all to live up to what the Lord knows we are capable of and can do. We also know, we can stand next to the priesthood and be equals in every way.
