My Love of the Scriptures--And Jesus Christ

I like having my homepage as the scripture to read online...it motivates me to read them first thing. It works for me!

Today I want to express my love for the scriptures. It has been my habit each day for the last several months to read them before I do anything else for the day. I notice that my day goes better and I have something to hold onto and bless my day. It is like eating spiritual food. My Spirit hungers and thirst after it is all I can say to describe it.

The times I am in the temple between assignments the scriptures are placed for us to pass the time between the veil calls. Veil calls means that while we go to the waiting area for the ordinance workers to sit and be directed to which place we will stand or be assigned at the veil. A patron has no idea what we workers do to prepare for them to meet them and take them through. I learn to appreciate what I do the more I go and the more I enjoy this work. The temple is the holiest place we can come, next to our homes and feel the Holy Spirit around us.

Many times if there are at least fifteen minutes between my next post, I will quietly slip into the Celestial room so I can pray. I am humbled to have this opportunity to go into such a beautiful room, with the crystal chandeliers all lit up so beautifully. One can literally feel the intensity of the spirit in there. It is full of peace and tranquility. No wonder we long to go home at times, to know and feel that "stand all amazed" kind of energy. It is like having a warm blanket around me on my shoulders and my whole being, mind, body and spirit enveloped in the arms of HIS love!

I testify that each time we attend the temple we can feel that as we become more sensitive to it. It is a refining, at best is the best way I can say to describe that. These are those blessings I was promised to enjoy as an extra measure when I was set apart as a worker there. It is like no other, trust me and I cherish greatly. This must be why we are commanded to stand in holy places.

I encourage all of you who read this, to come unto Christ, to HIM and drink from the waters of the fountain of eternal life. For "This is life eternal, to know God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent."

Tanise & Kaiwi gave me the book "Reflections of Christ" which has this photo on the cover. Thank you T & K!

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and testify he is the Holy One of Israel, the promised Messiah, and the Son of God. I look forward to the days I will again kneel at his feet and worship him and blessed to be in his presence.

Fresh Vegetables, Bountiful Harvest--Fruits of their Labors

These vegetables and fruits came from Tracie & Jared's bountiful harvest. Their new home has a peach tree that bore beautiful fruit.

I stopped by to see her with her birthday presents and she took me out to the garden and we picked cucumbers, eggplant, zuccini, yellow squash, several kinds of tomatoes, and jalapeno chili peppers. She also had some freshly cut cucumbers and raw sliced onion in vinegar like Grandma McIntire's recipe. They were delicious.

I count it a blessings since I had the rare privilege today when I went to the temple this afternoon. President Boyd K. Packer was there; I saw him as he was coming into the waiting area then he went in to visit with the Temple president who was walking next to him. Pres. Packer looks like he's aged some since I saw him visiting in our old Lindon ward. He is the President of the Quorum of the Twelve. He walks with a cane and looks like he's almost ALL white on top.
