What Others Are Grateful for and about in their life--in Daily Herald

A lot ... and more

I am thankful for a lot, especially for water, food, blankets and much, much more.

Triumph over tragedy

On an early fall day this year, my 4-year-old was hit by a truck while riding her bike. She almost died. But she was strong and fought her way back to us. I am so very thankful for that, but also I am thankful for the accident happening in the first place. That may sound harsh, but so much good came out of it! My neighborhood supported us with so much love during that horrible week and I feel so much closer to them now because of it.

This tragedy shook our family into a better place. We seem to love each other more, cherish each moment together more and feel a greater gratitude growing in our hearts for what we have. My daughter survived and was back to normal so quickly we call her "our little miracle." And I thank God for that. This season of love and thanks is brighter, more special because of the accident.
