Esther Christiansen Burt
I was saddened to learn today that Bestamor, aka Esther Burt passed away last night. I remember her fondly and lovingly for the person that she was. The first time I met her was at a Bridal Shower for Lori, her granddaughter. She approached me with a hug and a kiss on the lips. I was a little surprised at the time but felt her great love for me even though I knew her a short time...I also knew the great love she had for my son, Hank as well. It was her signature to greet me hello or goodbye with that same embrace and kiss.
She was a dear person and always felt like she was a good friend and I was a part of her family. I cherish her memory and mourn for her as for my grandchildren whom she influenced in her tutoring to them as children of God. I know she will be missed greatly. Perhaps she will continue to bless their lives from the other side with her prayers for them.
She used to tell me stories of her mother who was a widow and the hard worker that her mother was as she was growing up to provide for her and her brothers. Her father died when she was a toddler, I believe. She must have had a happy reunion to meet him again and into the waiting arms of her beloved mother...what a sweet thought of a happy reunion for them all.
I am also convinced that Grandpa Carlos was also nearby to greet her with my mother, Elena at his side to welcome her "home." They met each other at the time when Hank & Lori married. They also got to know Bestafar.
My condolences, to Lori, Hank and all of her great-grandchildren, as well as to Bestafar and their children, Linda (Lynn), Chris, Marilyn (Leonard), Rosanne (Ray) , Bill & wife, Rhonda. God bless you all.
